Science is one of our most popular subjects for tuition, as are particular Science subjects such as Chemistry, Physics and Biology tuition. These subjects are very important in the curriculum as every student has to study Science, whether in the form of single or double Science GCSE or the three individual Sciences until at least GCSE. Furthermore, studying Sciences at A-level or International Baccalaureate (IB) is highly valued by universities and can be a route to a prestigious undergraduate degree. It is therefore crucial that students achieve as highly as possible in these subjects, to set them up for greater academic success in the future.
Many of our highly qualified and experienced tutors are able to teach more than one of these Science subjects, sometimes in combination with Maths. It is therefore common for many of our students to have the same tutor for both Chemistry and Biology tuition, or Maths and Physics tuition or all three Sciences. However, some tutors also specialise in one of the three Science subjects, and these tutors are highly effective in quickly improving students’ understanding and knowledge in particular areas. We provide both home tuition and online tuition in Biology.
Biology focuses on the study of life and living organisms. Although it is a wide field with many different areas of study, the main unifying concepts in Biology include: cell theory; genetics; evolution; homeostasis; and energy. In learning about this challenging field, we assist students to understand biological concepts; identify key features of organisms (both animals and plants); and explain biological processes. We also teach revision and study skills and exam technique, so students can achieve highly in Biology exams. Biology is a key subject for lots of STEM careers, particularly in healthcare, medicine and jobs involving plants or animals. The list is pretty long and includes: nursing, dentistry, forensic science, psychology, physiotherapy, botany, environmental science, zoology, geology, oceanography, pharmaceuticals, energy, teaching, science writing, genetics and research.
